Digital media specialist Kerb is busy proving there's more to life than fun and games.

The Brighton-based team of Flash experts are making music by building a web site to help promote new band Aqualung after completing an animated video for Brighton band The Levellers.

Kerb said it was busy "entering a world of surreal darkness" to create a site for Aqualung, which has provided the music for the latest VW advert.

It has also changed its real and virtual home by moving offices to the Metway Building and launching a new web site to showcase its quirky approach to digital design.

Managing director Jim McNiven said: "We're innovators and we'd been using the previous site for a couple of years so it was time for a change.

"A number of people have emailed us asking if we can repost our old site because they want to visit it again, which was nice."

Mr McNiven said the new site was receiving lots of attention from overseas and was receiving a large number of hits.

The new site was voted site of the week in the Favourite Web Site awards, which is regarded as one of the arbiters of web site style.

It was also been featured in a number of other publications as an example of good design.

Kerb was recently nominated at the 2002 Flash Film Festival in San Francisco for its Travelsick game for Bravo and is continuing to design games for a variety of clients.

It is also preparing to launch its own range of clothing.

Mr McNiven: "There's a fair bit of work about. It's great to have our weekly meetings and talk about the opportunities coming our way."
