Jesus chose at least four fishermen as His first followers (Matthew 4:18-22).
He fed a crowd with dried fish (John 6: 5-14). He told Peter and the others where to cast their nets for an unusually large catch (John 21:4-8) and, some weeks after what we now call the Last Supper, Himself prepared a breakfast of fish and bread (John 21:9).
Perhaps a vegetarian lifestyle would be an ideal but Jesus never gave an indication that He considered it necessary.
