Landlord Tony Taylor-Mason has a grim warning for anyone who might choose to use a mobile phone in his pub.

He has nailed eight offending phones to a bar of shame at the Rising Sun in Upper Beeding.

Mobiles are essential for many people in their work and can be a vital means of communication.

But they are also a pest in many places as those in concert halls, trains, pubs and restaurants can testify.

Mr Taylor-Mason runs a friendly, traditional sort of pub, where people like to go for a quiet drink.

Mobiles in that environment are a bleeping nuisance and he is right to put off people from using them there.
