Lokk out for a quality Sunday card at Brighton this weekend.

The Kemp Town course is looking forward to a good turnout and Pigeon Point in the opening Brighton Square Supports Martlets Hospice Maiden Auction Stakes looks to be the pick of the afternoon.

This Richard Hannon-trained filly has bagged a third and a second place already this season but she is fancied to go all the way in this seven furlong event.

Hawk Wing can finally capture that elusive Group One success as a three-year-old by winning the £325,000 Coral Eurobet Eclipse Stakes at Sandown tomorrow.

The son of Woodman has already shown himself to be a colt of the highest order despite being a beaten favourite in both his races - and classics no less - this season.

Finishing runner-up to his stable companions Rock Of Gibraltar in the Sagitta 2000 Guineas and High Chaparral in the Vodafone Derby has seen Hawk Wing emerge with great credit.

The general feeling at Newmarket was that Hawk Wing, trained by the master of Ballydoyle, Aidan O'Brien, would have beaten Rock Of Gibraltar had he been drawn on the favoured stands side.

He flew up the hill in the final furlong and was only a neck down at the line. The winner has gone on to prove himself the best miler around with victories in the Entenmann's Irish 2000 Guineas and the St James's Palace Stakes.

Hawk Wing was denied victory at Epsom when outpointed over a mile and a half by High Chaparral, whose stamina came into play on the rain-softened ground. In running the winner to two lengths, he pulled 12 lengths clear of the third Moon Ballad.

What has High Chaparral done since then? Gone on to win the Budweiser Irish Derby.

The form is in the bank, all that is required now is to take the money. Supporters of Hawk Wing can surely do that tomorrow even though the odds will be poor in his first attempt at a mile and a quarter. This could prove to be his best trip as he stays a mile really well and only gave way in the closing stages of the Derby.

Opposition includes two of Hawk Wing's stablemates, last year's Eclipse third Bach and Sholokhov.

He belied his odds of 200-1 when runner-up to High Chaparral at the Curragh last Sunday and he was third to Hawk Wing in the Group One National Stakes there last September.

Sholokhov can chase home the hot favourite to give O'Brien another famous one-two.

Godolphin's representative Equerry is the best of the rest but this unbeaten colt, the more cut in the ground the better, is taking a big step up in class and may have to settle for third.

On an entertaining supporting card, Clive Brittain's Invader can gain compensation for a narrow defeat by Norton in the Royal Hunt Cup by winning the £100,000 Tote Scoop6 Handicap.

Kier Park has the speed to lift the Listed Porcelanosa Sprint Stakes.

Marcus Tregoning has the filly to take the Lancashire Oaks at Haydock in the shape of Shadow Dancing. She has been placed in both the Vodafone Oaks and the Ribblesdale Stakes. This looks to be her turn for success.

Takamaka Bay gets the nap vote in the Tote Old Newton Cup.
