Kinder-Transport, Barn Theatre, Southwick, until June 15 Set in 1939, the play follows the story of nine-year-old Eva, who escapes Nazi Germany with her mother, just just before the onset of the Second World War.

Eva starts a new life in England where she grows up and eventually has a daughter of her own.

In her new world, Eva tries to suppress her memories and emotions but, one by one, they reappear in her life.

Day By Day, Pavilion Theatre, Worthing, June 15 The life of America's cherished girl-next-door is celebrated in this musical extravaganza.

Rosemary Squires stars as Doris Day in this retelling of the blonde's life, work and leading men.

Endorsed by the great lady herself, the show includes a wide selection of Day's best-loved hits, including Que Sera Sera and Deadwood Stage.

Hobson's Choice, Theatre Royal, Brighton, until June 15 Tony Britton plays the obstinate boot-shop owner Henry Hobson in this touching comedy.

Hobson is eager to exploit his three daughters, Maggie, Alice and Vicky, by attempting to play them off against each other.

But Maggie has her own surprise in store when she sets out to woo her father's nervous master boot maker.

Up on the Roof, Chichester Minerva Theatre, June 19 until July 20 Comedy following five students from their graduation day night in 1975 to their latter reunions.

After leaving university as bright-eyed graduates, the group encounters jealousy as some of them become big-time successes and others don't.

Nominated for three Olivier awards, the show includes a number of hits from the Sixties and Seventies.
