Sussex skipper Chris Adams has undergone knee surgery to repair damage done while training last month.

The former England batsman suffered torn cartilage during a net session.

He is expected to be out of action for a further two weeks.

Adams said: "It's been a very frustrating couple of weeks for me, especially as I was in good form prior to the accident.

"But I will be back playing very shortly, even more determined to make my mark."
