Dance enthusiasts and film fans will find inspiration in this progressive weekend of events and activities.
The highlight looks set to be a showcase of dance films and shorts chosen by Toronto-based producer Kathleen M Smith and Linda Jasper, the director of South East Dance.
They include Bus # 9, about a chance encounter at a bus stop which becomes an excuse for a sultry tango, Skylark, inspired by Amelia Earhart, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean and Eve: Stranger Than Paradise, a reinterpretation of the Adam and Eve story combining the director's love of silent film and a bizarre sense of movement.
There is also a day-long course for those interested in producing and presenting dance work on film and an event called The Pitch, in which new talent competes for a bursary to make a new dance film.
