David Rogers (Letters, May 4) has clearly not yet noticed with the passing of time the world has indeed become a very small place.

When he writes, with reference to Brighton and Hove Albion's plans for a community stadium, that "emails to councillors from Saudi Arabia and New York are hardly pleas from locals", I guess he wishes to put us readers in Germany in the same boat.

Having been born in Eastbourne, educated in Brighton, lived in Hove, Worthing and Horsham, I have, as many others do who now live abroad, a great interest in the affairs of Brighton and Hove and, as a regular reader of The Argus

in Germany, am particularly looking forward to future coverage of the Albion at Falmer.

Mr Rogers may believe I have no right to voice my opinion, send an email to Brighton and Hove City Council or write letters to The Argus.

I know I have this right and, with a large family in Sussex and many great visits home still to come, more than enough reasons to do so.

The future of Sussex does not depend on the new stadium at Falmer but the future of the Albion does and I, like many others, know how important the Albion are to Sussex.

The coverage in The Argus underlines this and Mr Rogers should respect that we, whether in Germany, Saudi Arabia or New York, have a great interest in what is going on in Sussex and are prepared to add our voice to the thousands of others who are lucky enough to live in the county.

As I said - small world. Falmer for all.
