Peter Millis made many interesting points (Letters, April 27). I particularly liked his comment about Don McBeth's now infamous masterpiece (Letters, April 19).

Mr Millis wrote: "Don McBeth's composited picture may not have been particularly accurate but it did highlight the ugliness of developing a greenfield site."

Am I right in thinking Mr Millis feels in order to make a point it is acceptable to exaggerate the position to scare people? That would explain why his letter did the following:

Exaggerated the capacity of the proposed stadium and the traffic impact on the surrounding area; underplayed the investment the club has made in using sustainable transport methods both at Withdean and also within the plans for the new stadium; and exaggerated the availability of other sites while underplaying the level of transport improvements required. For example, does Mr Millis have proof Railtrack will build a station at Waterhall?

He should read the planning application papers which, luckily, Brighton and Hove City Council will be basing a decision on, rather than the hysteria, hearsay and half-truth of the anti-Falmer campaigners.
