Welcome to the ultimate dysfunctional family: The Blavatskys.

They live on the 25th floor of a grotesque tower designed by the head of the family Hector.

Hector is dying and in his wake has left a legacy of unusual family values resulting in three screwed-up children.

Two of his offspring refuse to leave their sanctum, which is disturbed by the unexpected arrival of Doctor Gunn, who attempts to adjust the family to modern life with hilarious and disastrous results.

The theatre's resident theatre company, Sweetspot, puts in a faultless and touchingly-funny performance as the family (plus doctor), with an excellent turn from Joan Walker as Audrey, the intense and fiercely over-protective elder sister.

While her outwardly bizarre younger sister, Ingrid (Emma Kilbey), looks for answers and questions her family's status, Audrey is adamant her family should appear "normal" to the outside world.

Blavatsky's Tower is touching, dark and surreal and perfectly suits the intimate setting of the venue.
