The Plantronics Audio 10 PC Microphone is an unidirectional microphone that will filter out most unwanted background noise.
It also provides a respectably high level of accuracy.
It is a very impressive, low-cost unit.
The microphone has a pleasing appearance with distinctly superior styling to a sturdy, plastic-moulded base unit and an elegant sweep to the stem with neat housing for the microphone on the top.
It comes complete with an adequate length of connection cable (1.8 metres)
and is sufficiently weighty not to fall over or wobble.
The unit is finished in black to match the new breed of computer cases and monitors.
The microphone did everything expected of it and allowed me to record high-quality messages for my PC answer phone and was just about good enough to use with a speech-to-text package, although a headset microphone is probably a better option.
The technical specification is excellent and more than adequate for the average user. With a frequency response of 100Hz - 8Hz and sensitivity rating of 39dBV/PA, it will suit most applications.
