One would think waste collection would be a simple matter but, in the heart of Hove, it most certainly is not.

Quite simply, our rubbish is not picked up - week after week after week after week after week after week. Yes, it gets a bit boring, doesn't it? My wife rings up several times a week about it.

This began when we moved here in January and has continued ever since. She must have made more than 50 phone calls so far.

Our waste is typically picked up every three or four weeks by "special arrangement".

Our contact at Brighton and Hove City Council dealing with it is Tabitha Eldritch.

She has worked tirelessly to help us but, short of her personally picking up our rubbish, she is at her wits' end.

She organises a collection but, nine times out of ten, no one shows.

We live on the Kingsway. Yes, that big road next to the sea. The house is a five-bedroom detached property. You can't miss it. It's the one with all the rubbish out in front.

Could someone organise regular weekly rubbish collections and compensate us for the phone calls, time and inconvenience?
