Three letters in The Argus aptly sum up the root problems of the Middle East (Letters, April 9).

Tony Blair knows it is Ariel Sharon, a Jewish Eichmann if ever there was one, who is causing the troubles not Arafat and he has consistently refused to discuss the issue that will settle the problem - land.

Having had his top ministers and representatives virtually insulted and sent home with their tails between their legs by Sharon and fearing to upset Bush and his cohorts who are trying to offset the problem by blaming Saddam Hussein, he is now cosying up to Bush rather than have the courage of Belgium.

This tiny country has rightly indicted Sharon for crimes against humanity but other cowardly EU states have failed to back it up.

Thus this monster is free to ignore Bush warnings and go about his butchery.

As for Palestinians being "terrorists" for trying to oust a cruel, humiliating Israeli occupying force from their land, this clearly shows some people are unable to differentiate between freedom fighters and terrorists.
