Albion are in seventh heaven after taking the Second Division title, despite being held to a scrappy stalemate by mid-table Swindon.
The final score was 0-0, but draws for Reading at home to Peterborough and Brentford at Queens Park Rangers meant a point was good enough for Peter Taylor's heroes.
They have become only the seventh club to clinch consecutive championships and the first since Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1989.
Fans invaded the pitch at the final whistle, but they faced an anxious wait before the results from Reading and Loftus Road were confirmed.
Ironically it was Leon McKenzie who snatched a 2-2 draw for Peterborough at Reading with a late equaliser.
Taylor tried to sign McKenzie before last month's transfer deadline and he is still interested in bringing him to Withdean in the First Division next season.
Brentford also fought out a goalless draw in the West London Derby against QPR.
A sell-out crowd of 6,870 saw the Seagulls struggle to find the form which has deservedly taken them to the top against a spirited Swindon side.
The Seagulls can now relax ahead of their closing match of a triumphant campaign at Port Vale next Saturday.
