Brooklyn trio who have notched up a number of impressive support slots.

Heralded by Rolling Stone magazine as "one of the ten bands you need to know", the Yeahs have supported The Strokes and The White Stripes.

Playing new-wave garage rock, the band's influences includes The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, who they happen to be touring with this year.

ELECTRELANE, Pavilion Theatre, New Road, Brighton, Sunday
Brighton-based, four-piece girl band with an electronic, 21st-Century sound.

Formed in 1998 by keyboardist Verity Susman and drummer Emma Gaze, the group's music has been described as "soundscapes" due to the visual effects and films shown at gigs.

Support comes from electronic pop trio Snowpony and The Polly Shang Kuan Band.

Everyone wants to see a band before they make it big and your best chance to do that is to get down to the Freebutt tonight.

Chungking are Brighton's best kept secret but they won't stay that way for long. Their last EP, It's Now Safe To Turn Off Your Computer, got soaked in music-press saliva.
