Residents got the "shock of their lives" when they came home to find a police raid in progress.
The man and woman walked through the front door to see police in body armour searching the house.
The two were arrested in Moulsecoomb, Brighton, for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs yesterday.
Sergeant Steve Curry, one of the officers on the raid, said: "We are delighted. They got the shock of their lives when they stepped through the door."
Police in stab-proof vests forced their way into the property, which was searched using dogs.
The woman was held in custody and referred to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in connection with drugs.
The man has been released on bail pending further inquiries.
