With the whole Falmer saga continuing to blunder along, I reckon a tortoise with concrete boots could do the London Marathon before this stadium sees the light of day.

What of all the petitions and letters fans were asked to get done, not to mention negotiations with the university and Falmer residents?

None of this would have been necessary if the chosen site was the Seaford side of Newhaven Harbour.

There are a whole number of reasons why this site makes perfect sense. This is a really large area of land and I don't think it's a conservation area for the lesser-spotted seagulls.

Lewes Council would give planning permission the day before yesterday and I feel locals would welcome it. As far as I know, it would be the only stadium right next to a main harbour and ferry service.

The club would gain a lot of overseas support from Dieppe and much of the surrounding area.

I reckon, within a short time, the stadium would require a couple of extra tiers to cope with the inflow. Both the slow ferries and the fast SuperSeacat would be busy all year round and Newhaven would be a super port.

The road bridge could remain down for an hour before and after a match and trains could run direct to Newhaven without fans having to change trains. There is nothing regarding access that couldn't be overcome.

Newhaven has enormous potential, as most people know, but putting the stadium and the ferry service next door to each other would turn it into a great place.

I would like to know what other fans think about this as an acceptable location.
