Paul Rogers rolled back the years for Albion reserves yesterday.
The club captain struck with a left-foot volley in a 3-0 win for Dean White's side against Barnet at Underhill.
Rogers was offered a new one-year contract last month to coincide with his 37th birthday.
Reserve team skipper Shaun Wilkinson, one of the players out of contract this summer, and teenage striker Chris McPhee were also on target.
The side included former Leyton Orient winger Phill Hadland, who made his first team debut as a substitute against Bristol City.
Australian keeper Chris Jones and Robbie Pethick, two more of the replacements in Monday's match at Withdean, also featured.
Injury-plagued Daniel Marney made his comeback from a thigh operation in the closing stages in place of McPhee, while Rupert Sansom went off at half time with a dead leg.
Albion: C. Jones; Wilkinson, Rowland, Virgo, Pethick, Hadland, Rogers, Hammond, Sansom, Lee, McPhee. Subs: Wojciechowski for Sansom, Marney for McPhee, Hemsley, Packham.
