The Argus Property (March 20) stated one in five of all house hunters hopes to move to the South East, according to the Alliance & Leicester.
This may, of course, be an exaggeration but it does highlight the problem we are facing.
Finding affordable housing for essential staff in our schools, hospitals, police and fire services - and for that army of workers which looks after our refuse and street cleaning, road repairs and so forth - is very difficult.
Christopher Henry pointed out (Letters, March 22) that accommodation for rent or purchase is becoming prohibitive.
Government planners must surely realise we cannot go on building more and more houses in the South East so more and more people can come here to live. We are ruining this glorious corner of our country.
What do our Members of Parliament have to say? Are the elected members of Brighton and Hove City Council doing anything to stop the rot?
