Television prankster Jeremy Beadle had people dancing on the tables and dropping their trousers at a top hotel.

The star of You've Been Framed and Beadle's About helped raise more than a smile at a charity event.

Almost 300 people packed the ballroom at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, Brighton, for a You've Been Quizzed night.

Mr Beadle had guests dancing on chairs and tables to musical clues to the questions.

At one stage, he ordered all the men to stand on their chairs and drop their trousers if they wanted to stay in the competition, and most did.

The event raised £8,000 for The Martlets Hospice in Wayfield Avenue, Hove.

It has to raise most of the £2.2 million it needs to cover its annual running costs itself.

Jeremy said: "I am always happy to help organisations like the Martlets, which does such wonderful work.

"The evening went very well and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves."
