Experience can be the key for Ringmer to achieve the first part of boss Glen Geard's double target tomorrow.

The Blues play Horsham YMCA in the final of the John O'Hara County League Cup at Wick (11am).

Geard has put together some highly-rated youngsters who have beaten YM three times in league and FA Vase already this season.

But he will be looking for older heads such as goalkeeper Keith Cheal, defender Lee Cox and strikers Tony Holden and Herbie Smith to take command tomorrow.

Geard said: "We have had a fair season and we are hopeful we can win this cup and come second in the league, but we will not under-estimate Horsham YMCA.

"It will come down to who plays well on the day, but I'm expecting it to be a good game. Both sides like to get the ball down and play."

Holden has a formidable cup pedigree. He scored twice for Worthing in the 1999 Senior Cup final, lobbed in the goal which took Rebels to the first round of the FA Cup, then scored against them to help Burgess Hill lift the Floodlight Cup.

Geard said: "Tony is a major player for us and Lee Cox has been playing as well as ever, but there are plenty of other good players here."

Both sides have men cuptied, including YM's attacking livewire Nick Flint.

Boss John Suter admitted Ringmer would have the psychological advantage but said: "Anything can happen on the day."

YM goalkeeper Jason Dumbrill will be looking to complete a hat-trick, having helped the club win the Division Two Cup in 1995 and the RUR last season.
