I have just read the description of Worthing in The Argus's Sussex visitors' guide.
I have lived here for 40 years and was unaware we had "five miles of award-winning sandy beaches".
I was sure Worthing's beaches were all pebbly and often covered in rotting seaweed.
Of the "two covered shopping centres", one is just a short arcade and the other's top floor is closed because all the shops are empty.
We do have a very old single-screen cinema but residents have to travel to Brighton for a decent multi-screen cinema.
Promenade parks? I don't think so. Who wrote the Worthing description, Jeffrey Archer?
-George Matthews, King Edward Avenue, Worthing
