The report regarding the changes in city policing (March 25) brought to mind the popular saying "What goes around comes around".
When I joined the Sussex Special Constabulary in the late Seventies, Brighton and Hove formed one division of Sussex Police. So what's new?
At that time, each town had its own superintendent and above them sat the divisional chief superintendent and his deputy (another superintendent).
I cannot remember what all those superintendents did - if I ever knew.
