Businesses and community groups have joined forces to back Brighton and Hove's bid to become European Capital Of Culture.
Organisations including American Express, Brighton and Hove Albion, Komedia and local art group Same Sky are supporting the city's where else campaign to win the title in 2008.
In an open letter to The Argus, the group of ten signatories explain why they are supporting the campaign.
They say being European Capital of Culture would give the city's economy a vital boost, attracting millions of pounds in grants and sponsorship for community and city projects.
