I read with interest the correspondence regarding Falmer stadium (Letters, March 1).

One letter talked about a phone-in and that many older people who thought the proposed site for the football ground was Stanmer Park - is it any wonder?

As you travel around the A27 bypass, there is a large advertising hoarding which states quite clearly the new stadium is to be at Falmer.

This is a very misleading advert as it is right in front of Stanmer Park. Both my husband and myself do not have a clue as to where this stadium is to be built.

We also note, on page 23 of the same edition of The Argus, an In Brief article states that Labour Councillor Steve Collier is urging the Countryside Commission to include five sites within the Brighton boundary in the National Park. One at the end of Benfield Avenue, another at Whitehawk Hill and another at Sheepcote Valley.

Is this for alternative sites for BHAFC?

Both these sites would be better alternatives than on the top of the downs at Falmer on the boundary of Brighton and East Sussex.
