I am writing to say how disgusted I was with John Parry's column on Storming The Dome (March 8).
He clearly does not understand what Brighton is about.
We need new directions in the arts if audiences are not simply to decline as they age and become bored with the same old predictable repertoires.
They will certainly not be replaced with a younger audience.
The event never claimed to be high art. It was a fun collection of music, drama and dance that involved people who wanted to be a part of the revival of this great venue.
Come on, The Argus, wake up to the fact that Brighton is alive to the future - it cannot be stuck in a backward-looking time warp.
You do not need John Parry any more. He is well past his sell-by date.
