Albion boss Peter Taylor has rewarded his players for their efforts so far this season with a three-night break in a luxury hotel.

The next-to-top Seagulls have been based since Saturday in the four star Dormy Hotel in Ferndown, just outside Bournemouth.

The Dormy has a leisure centre with direct access to a golf course. Taylor is hoping it will help Albion get their promotion challenge back into swing following Saturday's below-par goalless draw at home to third-bottom Wrexham.

"I know the area very well and I have always brought teams to this hotel," Taylor said.

"It's a bit of a reward for the tremendous season they've had so far and that is why I get hurt with comments at players from some fans.

"They have one promotion under their belts and are in a tremendous position to get a second on the spin, which has never happened at this club before.

"They deserve to be in a nice hotel. They had a bit of a drink as a team on Saturday night and they have been working hard since then.

"It's a change of scenery as well, which I think you ideally need a couple of times over the course of a season."

Taylor was angered by comments directed at him and the players from sections of the Withdean crowd on Saturday. They accused the team of not trying and lacking spirit.

Gary Hart seems certain to miss tonight's match with a swollen ankle sustained against Wrexham.

Taylor must decide whether to give Hart's replacement David Lee his full debut for the club on the right flank and what system to play, 4-3-3 or 4-4-2. Either way 18-year-old Chris McPhee is likely to make his first away start up front.

Hart's absence plus continuing suspensions for goal king Bobby Zamora and Daniel Webb leaves Taylor only 17 outfield players to select from.

The Cherries' situation is even worse. They already have a long casualty list and five of the side which started Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Bury missed training yesterday through injury or illness.

That result has left the Cherries on the brink of the relegation zone, but Taylor expects them to be hard opponents.

Taylor said: "Bournemouth will be very tough. They are going to try and bounce back after losing away and we have got to do the same.

"We are pleased with our position at the moment, but we've got 12 games to go and we have got to put in a good run."

Elsewhere tonight, leaders Reading and third-placed Brentford are both away to play-off contenders in Wycombe Wanderers and Oldham respectively.
