A former star of hit TV hospital drama Casualty is now working on the streets of Sussex.
An ambulance featured in the BBC show has been bought for the Brighton quadrilateral division of St John Ambulance.
A dedication service to mark the arrival of the vehicle was carried out by Father David Biggs at St Peter's Church in Brighton on Sunday.
The vehicle is equipped with the latest life-saving equipment and will be used as a front-line emergency ambulance at major events such as the London to Brighton bike ride.
The vehicle was bought through a series of donations and fund-raising activities co-ordinated by the late St John divisional president for Brighton, Dorothy Gregory, to whose memory the ambulance was dedicated.
Brighton Lions contributed to the cost of the equipment.
St John county commissioner Rosslyn Stenning said: "Apart from its special history, this ambulance will be an invaluable addition to the fleet."
