A man has been released on police bail after being arrested in connection with a suspected East Sussex murder.

The unemployed 45-year-old was arrested by Sussex detectives at his home in Southwark, London, yesterday.

He was quizzed in relation to the possible murder of Jason Martin-Smith, 28, who police have been tipped off was shot dead in Hastings around August last year.

Murder squad detectives revealed earlier this month they are linking his disappearance and suspected death with the drive-by shooting of former professional boxer Jimmy Millen, of Taylor Close, Hastings, in Hastings last October.

Three men were arrested and bailed earlier this month by detectives working on the double murder inquiry, codenamed Operation Darnel.
