History was made when the Brighton club played their counterparts from the city's college at under-tens and under-11s for the first time.

Brighton under-tens beat Brighton College 45-5 with the tries scored by Craig Holland (3), George Taylor (3), James Kinsella (2), and Alex Spurgeon.

Brighton under-11s overcame the college 14-7, with Sam Weatherall scoring two tries.

Brighton Press officer Melissa Stepney said: "The match against the college went very well. They had always played against others schools before and we thought it would be a good idea to link up with them to offer their pupils the chance to play more rugby."

Brighton under-13s played a triangular tournament against Lewes and Bognor.

Brighton beat Lewes 55-0 with tries coming from Tom Peissel, Jon Farr (2), James Gill, Charlie Foreman, Joe Mitchell, Carl Smith, Nick Hannay and Nick O'Connor-Smith. Charlie Foreman and John Taylor kicked the conversions.

Brighton beat Bognor 40-7 with tries by by Tom Piessel (2), Scott McGregor, Kurt Butler, Nick O'Connor-Smith and Jon Farr. Charlie Foreman and John Taylor kicked the conversions. Lewes lost 35-0 against Bognor.

Brighton under-18s were pipped 7-5 by Effingham.

Hove under-13s bounced back from a 21-17 defeat against Horsham to overcome East Grinstead 41-0. Jordan Peters and Alex Robertson scored tries.
