Am I the only tenant of Brighton and Hove City Council who is sick and tired of government regeneration money seemingly going mainly to just two areas - Whitehawk and Moulsecoomb?

They get millions to spend. We cannot even get a handrail fixed in more than five years (a section was removed by the council for safe-keeping).

As my wife and I are both disabled, this rail is essentially a safety factor in getting from the road to our bungalow.

That's not all. We had a contractor call to put in replacement shiplap boarding 20 months ago. It's still not finished.

Is it no wonder, as council house tenants, we now strongly believe it is without a doubt a deliberate ploy to run down stock wherever possible and just ignore our telephone calls and letters?

There are no excuses that could or should be used by the housing department. Believe me, people are getting really het up about these supposedly level playing fields. Perhaps I should put down my address as "Coldean, quite near Moulsecoomb" - maybe then a few pounds would make their way over here.

This estate needs flat pavements, clean streets, a real policeman and, most of all, a community centre for all.

It's not much to ask if you live in those other areas but, over here, there's more chance of seeing the abominable snowman or Lord Lucan.
