This is supposed to be a city but it's not. They don't pay city wages. In fact, they still pay urban district wages.
The reason we can't get nurses and nursing home staff is because it is one of the dearest cities to live in and you have to manage on urban district wages.
When I was working, I had to work seven days a week on British Rail to get some food. It got me in the end. I am now a shadow of a man - only a nurse got worse wages than me.
I am now in a warden-operated home and they can't get a warden because of the poor wages.
