Millionaire Nicholas van Hoogstraten will face trial for the murder of a retired businessman on April 9, a judge decided today.
The Common Serjeant of London, Judge Peter Beaumont, ruled at the Old Bailey that Hoogstraten and two other men, Robert Knapp and David Croke, would be tried on the same indictment.
They are all charged with murdering 62-year-old Mohammed Sabir Raja, who was shot at his home in Sutton, Surrey, on July 2 1999.
Hoogstraten, 56, of Framfield, Uckfield, and Knapp, 53, of Abbeyfeale, County Limerick, are further charged with conspiracy to murder.
Croke, 59, of Bolney Road, East Moulescombe, Brighton, and Knapp were remanded in custody. Hoogstraten was remanded on conditional bail.
The date of the next hearing will be fixed at a later date.
No pleas were entered today.
