Councillor Paul Cosham's comments ("Stupid spray", Letters, November 20) make me sad he does not know it is his own employees or highway contractors that have blanked out the traffic-calming signs.
This was done with removable spray paint. The signs will remain blanked out until the traffic-calming islands are in place.
For Coun Cosham to blame young people for vandalism before gathering the facts beggars belief.
That he is the chairman of the Highways Committee, who should be aware of the work going on, makes matters worse.
