Horsham are back on top of Sussex One after a convincing 42-0 win at St Francis.

Forwards Carl Harman (2) and Micky Clay both scored tries. Fraser Tussler and Rob Frater also crossed with Richard Bell landing two conversions and a penalty.

Previous leaders Chichester were frustrated when Rye failed to arrive for the game at Oaklands Park. Sussex Police withdrew from their game at Hellingly due to shortage of players.

Hastings and Bexhill remain in the promotion running after their 25-14 home win over Crowborough.

Wings Steve Kimber (2) and Steve McManus scored tries, with Kimber kicking a conversion and penalty, as they raced into a 20-0 lead.

Crowborough cut arrears to six points before impressive Warwick Benson settled the contest.

Heathfield were 32-6 winners at UC Chichester, though the students were pleased with their efforts under new coach Paul Colley, a former Chichester player.

Simon Wilson, Steve Grimsey, Julian Wates, Richard Cooley and Tim Evans scored tries for third-placed Heath but coach Herb Merritt said: "We've still got a lot of work to do."

Sussex Two East leaders Seaford trailed 6-3 to an enthusiastic Burgess Hill side at half-time but hit back to win 27-6. Andy Booth scored the try of the game after a flowing move and kicked three conversions and two penalties.

There were also tries for Trevor Matthew and Peter Joy.

Newick's 36-0 success at Plumpton featured 16 points for Liam Craig-Davies, who crossed twice and landed three conversions. Steve Curtis (2), Adam Wrench and Martin Ramm also scored tries.

Robertsbridge enjoyed their first win, beating Ditchling 30-17.

Midhurst's much improved form this season has taken them into the top half of Sussex Two West after Saturday's 37-5 win at Shoreham. Skipper Phil Lufton scored a try, two conversions and a penalty. Mike Morgan (2), Sean Worrall, Gus Ford and Kevin Raishbrook also crossed.

Royal and Sun Alliance's 75-0 win over Arun featured five tries for David Price and four by Dan Carter. Andy Prosser (2), Seth Wise and Peter Jarrett completed a 13-try tally.

Leaders Pulborough maintained their superb defensive record with a 22-0 defeat of Wingspan.

Norfolk Arms beat Barns Green 60-0.
