Bus fares on Stagecoach Coastline are to increase again on November 25.

They were increased less than seven months ago, on April 29.

Passengers have had to suffer a complete withdrawal of the hourly Sunday service on Route 702 between Brighton and Arundel, the last bus from Brighton to Goring being brought forward to 6.45pm on Mondays to Saturdays instead of 9.45pm and the last bus from Brighton to Worthing being changed to 7.45pm on Mondays to Saturdays instead of 11.15pm.

Ironically, the last bus from Littlehampton to Goring and Worthing is still 9.45pm on Mondays to Saturdays.

Obviously, all those passengers who complained about the withdrawal of the last journeys from Brighton to Worthing and Goring were considerably fewer than those who travel from Littlehampton to Goring and Worthing.

It is about time the service between Brighton and Worthing was handed back to the Brighton and Hove company, as it was prior to 1915, when it was handed over to the then newly-formed Southdown company.

Either that or the Government should "do a Railtrack" on Stagecoach, which is clearly only driven by the profit motive. This latest move will only further alienate passengers and drive them from "public" transport.
