If anything comes of John Smith's tragic, unnecessary death, it must be a complete overhaul of the adoption system.
It is all well and good social workers striking for their colleagues (I am sure they are underfunded and overworked) but this doesn't mean there wasn't negligence in this case.
The only person really failed by the system was that little boy and others like him. And who strikes for them?
