My wife was taken to Worthing Hospital by ambulance on the afternoon of October 18 with a suspected second stroke.

I have been looking after her, bathing her, washing and cleaning the flat for £37 a week.

I have just been fined £30 for a few minutes' parking offence outside the hospital.

I did not see the permit sign because I was very worried about my wife.

Where has all the decency gone? I am 83 years of age and have been brought up with discipline, having had a strict life as a young man and then in the Forces.

I have always believed in a sporting chance - give and take a little.
