For some years, The Argus has progressively tried to influence local issues by campaigning for or against them.

While accepting the editor is entitled to his personal views on these issues, irresponsibly voicing them as an authorative view on the pages of our local newspaper adds disproportional weight, seemingly designed to affect their outcome.

Voice Of The Argus was an appallingly arrogant comment on the result of the mayoral referendum and a clear expression of sour grapes at the result.

However, the voice of the city has made its wishes known.

So kindly accept that with good grace and get on with the job of reporting, not influencing, the events in our city.
