We are facing a huge increase in council tax as a result of the refuse collection fiasco, estimated to cost an extra £1.5 million.
Since this sum is only a little higher than the additional revenue generated from the street parking fiasco, Brighton and Hove City Council might regain some of its popularity by offsetting one against the other.
Two wrongs could make a right after all.
