As an ambulance car service volunteer of some years, I can offer first-hand grass-roots experience.

All patients taken to the Nigel Porter Unit were well satisfied. Patients with problems other than breast cancer going to Haywards Heath dreaded the journey.

For those not sufficiently well connected to be entitled to ACS, the journey by public transport was a nightmare.

The health trust leaves itself open to charges that the Charter of Human Rights, Article 3, has been violated - this amounts to unnecessary suffering by people already trying to cope with NHS over administration.

For once, put the customer first. Remember, your wages come from them.
