The Argus (October 12) ran pictures of five people who, it seems, are in line to replace Micky Adams as manager of the Albion. Their credentials are worth examining.
Peter Taylor, just-sacked manager of Leicester City. Hardly surprising - Leicester are at the bottom of the Premiership and looking red-hot candidates for relegation.
Jim Smith has just left Derby, who are third bottom of the Premiership. Ditto as regards relegation.
Harry Redknapp, whose former club, West Ham, are second from bottom of the Premiership. Ditto concerning relegation.
Gordon Strachan, who led Coventry triumphantly from the Premiership into Division One last season. Coventry are struggling to stay with the leaders in that division.
All four are proven losers. Do the Albion need someone like that?
Finally, there's Bob Booker. Don't know much about him. But, as Adams's offsider, he must have picked up plenty before Micky went north to try to repair the damage at Leicester.
Give Bob his chance.
