A great-grandmother has followed her husband's lead by winning more than £100,000 playing bingo.

The 72-year-old was playing at the Crown Club in Bognor on Friday, October 12, when she scooped the top prize in the National Game.

The woman's husband collected £18,000 in 1995 when he shared in a major national prize.

The woman, who lives in the Petworth area, has asked not to be named.

She and her husband have been playing for more than 25 years, usually two or three times a week, or more if they enjoy a win.

She said: "I was in tears when I realised how much I had won.

"I couldn't believe it. We are a close-knit family and we will be looking after them with the money."

In total, the woman won £107,456 by completing a full house in 40 numbers.

Her win is the second jackpot at the Crown recently. In July, Christopher Cooper, 55, of London, scooped £93,000 at the hall while he was on holiday.
