A husband was appearing in court today charged with the murder of his wife.
Frances Gould, 44, was found unconscious at her home in Hale Close, Bracklesham Bay, on Friday night.
She was taken to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester with head injuries, but was later transferred to the neurological unit of Southampton General Hospital for emergency surgery.
She died yesterday.
Her 37-year-old husband Richard was arrested at the scene of the incident.
He was appearing today before Chichester magistrates.
