Albion caretaker Bob Booker left skipper Paul Rogers out of the starting line-up as the Seagulls started life without Micky Adams at the McAlpine Stadium.

Booker, helped by director of youth Martin Hinshelwood, took the brave decision of relegating the experienced Rogers to the bench.

Nathan Jones also lost his place as Booker plumped for the side which started the second half of the home defeat against his old club Brentford eight days ago.

Lee Steele and Gary Hart, brought on at half time against the Bees, were in from the kick-off this time.

Steele, who scored against Brentford within seven minutes of his introduction, returned to give more support upfront to Bobby Zamora, with Hart on the right flank and Paul Brooker reverting to the left wing.

Joining Jones and Rogers among the replacements was Andy Crosby, transfer listed at his own request by Adams last month.

Huddersfield welcomed back topscorer Danny Schofield to the attack alongside Andy Booth.

Schofield was suspended for last Sunday's 3-2 defeat at Queens Park Rangers.

Terriers manager Lou Macari was also forced into a change on the bench, Phil Senior replacing Fraser Digby as spare goalkeeper following Digby's move to QPR.

Albion once again had good away support at Huddersfield's state-of-the-art home at the end of a difficult week.
