Simon Fanshawe's attempt to compare a mayor for Brighton and Hove with that of London is quite laughable (Letters, October 10).
Not only does Ken Livingstone have a lot more people to justify his salary but also he is widely respected as someone who puts the people before private business interests - something which would clearly not be followed by a Brighton and Hove mayor.
