MONDAY: Micky Adams challenges Andy Ritchie's Oldham to deal with the pressure of being top after overtaking the Seagulls on goal difference.

"Let's see how they cope," Adams says. "I think my lads have coped with it admirably."

Alan Cork is dissatisfied with Cardiff's 1-1 draw against Albion. "We dominated the game and deserved more," complains Adams' former assistant.

Withdean announcer John Baine calls for Cardiff fans to be banned from the return clash in February after rough treatment for Seagulls supporters at Ninian Park.

TUESDAY: Adams is confirmed as manager of the month for September following Albion's unbeaten League run of four wins and two draws.

"It shows how far we have come and it goes without saying it's about what the team do," he said.

"We've had an unbelievable start really. People ask me silly questions like am I disappointed to be knocked off the top when I am just happy to have been there."

WEDNESDAY: Albion are forced to limber up in Preston Park as the crisis over training ground facilities deepens.

Adams outlines October as the month to shape Albion's season.

He says: "Normally you tend to get an idea about the table after ten games. Let's take it after 15 or 16 this time.

"We have got Brentford at home, Huddersfield away, Oldham at home and Notts County away, so October will give us an indication of where we are at."

THURSDAY: Simon Morgan hails his partner Danny Cullip as "the best defender in the Second Division."

Morgan says: "I have been fortunate to play at Fulham alongside international defenders Kit Symons, Andy Melville and Chris Coleman.

"Danny has all the attributes he needs to go on and be as successful and as good as those."

FRIDAY: Albion midfielder Charlie Oatway emphasises the part the Withdean fans have to play against his old club Brentford. He said: "We need our fans behind us no matter what the score is."
