On the television this week we were delighted to see two mounted police horses patrolling the Brighton seafront and understand four horses had been acquired as an experiment.
My wife and I thought how lovely it would be if the residents of Brighton and Hove were to sponsor a police horse and so enable the Sussex Police to acquire more of these impressive animals.
Parents could encourage their children to be involved and schools could do likewise.
A minimum of £1 monthly would generate an appreciable sum for this purpose.
