SALLY Becker (Letters, October 2) hit the nail on the head when she mentioned Councillors Murphy and James have had their lead positions frozen because they had the gall to be against the pro-mayor lobby.
I'm sure only all those Labour councillors supporting a mayor will be guaranteed selection when their number is reduced to 54 in 2003. Just wait and see.
