I would like to express my sympathy to Steve Brocklesby (Letters, August 9), who was forced to walk for a whole ten minutes every day.
If only more people walked a whole ten minutes, we wouldn't be in this mess.
On a separate note but still regarding parking, I, along with several biker friends, had a fun-filled Sunday afternoon outside a cafe in Madeira Drive, Brighton, watching a cohort of parking attendants ticket every car that was parked illegally in the coach pick-up spaces.
How we cheered when one was lifted up and taken away. And how we booed when one driver returned to his car just as the truck returned for more, thereby saving his BMW from being towed.
As soon as the illegally-parked cars were gone and coaches did not have to double park, traffic flowed once more.
Perfect evidence there are reasons for rules.
